<- Adobe Photoshop Version 7.0

Software Information

So, we often get asked what software we use to adjust and edit images. Our primary program is Adobe Photoshop version 7.0. It's a very powerful program and the most popular professional program around for image editing.

Two and Three Dimensional Artists
For more creative work some of us (we are all secret artists, in fact everyone that works at Silicon has an MFA) use Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet.

The combination of these two programs gives an artist the closest thing they can find to using traditional materials. The cordless Wacom pen is pressure sensitive and the Painter program has more materials and tools than you could ever use.

We occasionally offer free seminars on this combination specifically for artists. If you are interested in joining one of these small informal meets please e-mail Rick or Michal for details. You can also check out www.wacom.com and www.corel.com for more specific information and free demos.

Photographers
If photography is your "thing" then you can't go wrong with Adobe Photoshop, despite it's high price it's still the most widely used image editing program around. If you are on a tight budget you could try Jasc Paintshop Pro which you can download for around $85 or buy a boxed version for less than $100.

Corel also offers a very powerful package in CorelDraw Graphics Suite 11 which costs around $350 ($250 for competitive upgrade) and included the best drawing program around and an excellent image editing program.

Color Calibration
We don't have the space to talk about this here. If you need some more information on setting up your system to work with us please e-mail Michal or Rick
