For the IRIS 3047 To provide the best color gamut and most archival prints, Silicon has selected two ink sets:

1. The Lyson WH-3 color ink set
2. Lyson all Black (neutral) ink set.

Based on thorough tests conducted by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc., the Lyson ink set has a predicted display life of 65-75 years when used on Somerset Radiant White Velvet Paper. On Arches Cold Press paper, the longevity is expected to be more than 75 years, although tests are still being conducted. The Lyson all Black (neutral) ink set has a projected life in excess of 100 years on Somerset Radiant White Velvet Paper.

The Epson printers uses proprietary Epson pigmented inks with a projected life of aound 100 years on the 9500 and 60 years on the 9600.
